At present, almost all inspection robots adopt the composite explosion protection type; in terms of explosion-proof technology, all their components must hold valid Ex Certificates before the complete machine explosion-proof certification can be carried out. The common composite types include flameproof/increased safety/encapsulated/intrinsically safe and other combined explosion protection types.
Many clients often ask about the applicable standards and technical requirements for the explosion-proof certification of inspection robots.
Whether a product requires explosion-proof certification depends on whether it is used in an explosive gas or dust atmosphere;
Whether a product is eligible for explosion-proof certification depends on the evaluation of its structural design;
The standards for domestic explosion-proof certification are the GB/T 3836 series, and the appropriate explosion protection type can be selected based on the product's structure and its intended application environment.
As equipment widely used in explosive hazardous areas, inspection robots have largely solved problems that cannot be addressed by manual work.
Since such areas carry explosive risks, all on-site equipment must pass testing and certification by qualified national certification bodies and obtain the corresponding Ex Certificate, which is what we refer to as applying for explosion-proof certification.
Inspection robots are generally equipped with functions such as photography, positioning and alarm, and their components include various sensors, cameras and other electrical parts.
When applying for explosion-proof certification as a combined piece of equipment, all electrical components must hold valid Ex Certificates (the explosion protection rating of the electrical components shall not be lower than that of the inspection robot itself), followed by the explosion-proof certification assessment for the complete machine. Therefore, the Ex markings of inspection robots are basically of the composite type.
